THANKS
Our special thanks go out to the members of the Piney Green, Pumpkin Center, White Oak, and Hubert Volunteer Fire Departments, the Jacksonville Fire Department and emergency and law enforcement personnel! Thank you for all your hard work in fighting the fire at our building. Thanks also to all who have dropped by to help out and clean up!
Thanks to all who are carrying the extra load of organizing our ministries to adjust to the loss of our building! You are doing a great job!
Words are inadequate to describe our thanks to the many individuals, churches and organizations who have come to our aid during this time. We appreciate your kind words, prayers, generous gifts and offers of assistance more than you will ever know! May God bless you for your many kindnesses!
PRAYER REQUESTS
Priority Prayer Requests:
- God's wisdom in making the many decisions
- Open doors for ministry
WHERE ARE WE IN THE PROCESS?
Investigators indicate that it was an electrical fire. The building is a total loss.
We are working with our insurance adjustor to determine what funds will be available from our policy to put toward a new building.
We spent quite a few hours sifting through the ashes to determine an inventory of what was lost, such as in Pastor Bill's library. The remains of the building and fire debris have been removed. (Check out the Photo album page for photos.)
Our board has called all our ministry teams to review their ministry goals and establish their ministry priorities which will be used to guide our building plans. We are planning to relocate to a larger, equally visible, piece of property, location yet to be determined.
Our New Building Steering Committee has begun to compile the ministry goals of the various ministries, seek out suitable properties, and has interviewed architects and builders. At our July '04 Board Meeting our Steering Committee recommended that we hire C.A. Lewis as our general contractor and Dunn & Dalton as our architect (a Design/Build partnership). Our board approved this recommendation. Then we focused on finding land (10-20 acres), and have it evaluated by our Design/Build team for suitability for our needs.
We sold our old property (3.95 acres).
On October 1, 2008 we purchased 23.31 acres on Richlands Hwy (Rt. 258), just one and a half miles west of the end of the Jacksonville by-pass. We are still debt-free, but we anticipate beginning a Capital Stewardship Program in order to raise the funds necessary to build Phase 1 of our Master Site Plan.

Thank you for your prayers and support as we seek God's direction in fulfilling His mission for us in Onslow county and the world!
